While I might not be the biggest fan of Christmas, one thing I love is the lights! Tomorrow (Saturday,) our neighbors over on Naples Island will be having their Annual Holiday Boat Parade. The best part is, you don’t even have to leave BS to watch it. Just walk over to Bayshore Avenue, and sit on the beach. You’ll get to see the little boats coming under the bridge, and if you’re near the area of Division or 1st Street, you’ll see the big boats at their turn-around point.
I’d probably make a day of it. Hit up 2nd Street to listen to the carolers and the bands during the afternoon. Do some shopping. Grab a bite (and, do I have to keep telling you, an adult beverage?) Then make my way over to Bayshore for the parade.
A lot of the houses on Bayshore are lit up
and so are their residents, so it’s always a very festive atmosphere, and an enjoyable walk. Be sure to bundle up, though! And remember, sometimes a flask is your warmest accessory, but you didn’t hear that from me…
